Dress Policy

In order for students to be taught effectively, appropriate attire is important. We are parents and understand that sometimes, everything you own will be dirty or you’ll forget a piece for dance class – we understand! The most important thing is that students can be evaluated by their instructors for technique & safety – clothing that is flexible and not distracting is important.

Visit our store for attire, shoes & more, either online or in our center at 170 N 2nd St., Suite B:  LKH & Company

Snowy Range Music Together, Baby & Me:

Comfortable clothing for movement for both adult and child; dance in bare feet or socks as parents choose. (Socks can be slick on our floors!)

PreDance & Baby Ballet:
Leotard, tights and ballet slippers are awesome, but not required. Leggings & a t-shirt are just fine if needed! Bare feet are okay in lieu of ballet slippers; we avoid socks and especially tights with no shoes as it’s slick on our floors. (Note: Please no “slipper” type ballet shoes found at discount stores-they are extremely slippery and dangerous!)  Our space begins chilly in the winter and warms up, so layers are just fine. We take structured water breaks in this class, so water bottles left with parents and not brought onto the dance floor are welcome! Please secure hair out of the face in your most successful style for your kiddo. Please avoid jewelry and floppy headbands/hair doo dads that won’t stay put – they’re a big distraction. For our gentlemen in the class: Shorts and a t-shirt are perfect, or sweats that aren’t too bulky. We have black ballet shoes perfect for boys in our store, but bare feet are also great! Please no bulky sweats, jeans or long skirts for dancers!

Ballet & Pointe:
Leotard, tights, ballet skirts, flexible shorts or leggings (no sweats or jeans), and ballet slippers. Hair must be securely off of the face in your favorite style. Layers are welcome for warming up! For Gentlemen: See attire description at the bottom of this list.

Jazz shoes, Dancesneakers, or clean-soled sneakers (meaning carried into our space vs worn in from outside as rocks in the soles can pock mark our floors).  For Gentlemen: See attire description at the bottom of this list.

Tap & Clogging

Leggings, non-bulky sweats or jazz pants, t-shirts are great! Tap shoes are perfect for tap, clogging or Irish hard shoe. For Gentlemen: See attire description at the bottom of this list.

  1. We will respect all students, and in return, we ask you to please respect your teachers and fellow students.
  2. We appreciate punctuality and regular attendance, but family life is real and we understand. However, the only way to improve your technique is to show up!
  3. Please maintain a positive attitude – learning anything new can be difficult or stressful, but keep an open mind. Remember that no one is perfect.
  4. Come prepared for class and dress according to what the class description requests. Please no bra tops or improper footwear. Please carry in all shoes and leave street shoes at the door. 6. No gum chewing. Please keep all food and drink in the lobby. We have a very small refrigerator in the lobby that you’re welcome to use plus a small microwave and homework space! Please clean up after yourself and your kiddos.
  7. Please turn cell phones off or silence them in the classroom. Personal phone calls and texts are discouraged during class unless it is an emergency. You may leave your phone on the stereo if you’re concerned about its safety in the lobby. Please refrain from checking your phone during class; use breaks or time between classes.
  8. Do not leave class early unless you have previously discussed it with your instructor.
