Tights, Shoes, Hair & Makeup

Q: Is this for pictures, dress rehearsal AND recital? We would appreciate wearing tights, if required, with your costume for pictures. Hair needs to be out of face or up for pictures, but does NOT have to be in what we’re requesting for dress rehearsal & recital.

Q: I discovered my dancer’s pink/black tights are missing, outgrown, or ripped! No problem! We have tights for sale – convertible and some footed – for $10.60! (Irish 2 & 1 are receiving their black tights with their costume!) We also have technique shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes, etc. if yours are outgrown or a little worn through for recital!

Q: Are hair & makeup making you nervous? No problem! We have many older dancers who are pros at hair and stage makeup. They’re more than happy to help, but we’ll want to script in that time for them to help – so please let us know ASAP if you need help and we’ll make “appointments.” These older dancers will be also getting ready so we’ll just make sure we give everyone the time they need. Also! This can apply to dancers who are in more than one piece — if you need to change hair, let’s plan ahead and an older dancer can help you!

Monday Predance: Pink tights, ballet shoes, hair up out of face (pony tails, buns, top half up, as you prefer), bows or hair ribbons are great if you’d like! Makeup as compliments skin tone, lighter for pictures, darker for stage: eyeshadow, blush, mascara (stage), lipstick/tinted gloss … you may add foundation and/or eyeliner if you’d like, but please don’t feel obligated.

Monday Upper Ballet 1: Pink tights, ballet shoes, hair in buns.
Makeup as compliments skin tone, lighter for pictures, darker for stage: eyeshadow, blush, mascara (stage), lipstick/tinted gloss … you may add foundation and/or eyeliner if you’d like, but please don’t feel obligated.

Monday Hip Hop/Jazz: No tights (since you’re wearing leggings), jazz shoes are great but black socks can work (ask us about the $10 jazz shoes we have leftover – they’re brand new and brands we don’t carry anymore!) Please feel welcome to put a black tank, leo, sports bra, etc. underneath the tank. If what you prefer is a black short sleeve, just let us know. Hair half up & curled. Monday Cheer: No tights (cheer doesn’t do tights), white short socks and cheer sneakers if you have them or regular sneakers (please clean your soles and carry them in from the street so they don’t mess up the performance floor for others!)
